2014 HCCA News & Events

When I was elected, my number one goal was to engage our community in the political process. From town hall meetings, to home visits, we have done that, all to create an active district.

Today, I would like to invite you to a day of community engagement, Activate 101 – CommunityEngagement  Day.  On  Saturday,  September 20,  2014  from 9am to 12pm,  the League  of Women Voters, city officials, Broward Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie, Broward County Mayor Barbara Sharief, and other community leaders will join me at McNicol Community Center, 1411 South 28th Avenue, Hollywood, FL 33020 for this day of engagement.

Activate 101 is intended to provide the community with an opportunity to engage, empower and educate the residents of District 101 on important issues. Issues that will be discussed include: the Broward County Schools $800 million bond referendum, current county issues, Amendment 2 (Medical Marijuna) on the November ballot, and other issues important to our district. I am hopeful that you can join us. For additional information or questions about the event, feel free to contact our office at 954-893-5010 or email Sajan Kurian at sajan.kurian@myfloridahouse.gov.
